A Pre-Order Grafting Request is an order for us to produce the specific tree that we don't currently have available in stock. We must graft the tree and then it must go through a multi-month process to heal and grow. Only Once the small tree has completed two flushes of growth since it was grafted do we consider it ready to leave our nursery.

Van Raj is from Gujarat state, India. It is an old time variety there, and is common in the city of Vadodara specifically.
We obtained Van Raj from the USDA and planted it around 2018. Unfortunately it struggled with health issues initially but has since recovered well, despite being planted in a less-than-ideal location due to shade from older surrounding trees. It produced its first flowers and fruit in 2023.
It is a medium sized mango with oval-round shape that turns red near maturity. The flesh is firm, yellow and fiberless, with a very nice tangy-noted Indian-Alphonso group flavor. The seed is medium-sized and monoembryonic.
Van Raj appears to be either a mid or late-season mango in Florida. We are looking forward to continuing to evaluate this variety in the coming years.
