Ox
Ox (short for 'Oxkutzcab') is a variety selected in the Yucatan area of Mexico and introduced to Florida decades ago. It is known for producing VERY large sized fruit, larger than most commonly found varieties of sapodilla. The flesh has brown to light red color and some grit but not many seeds. The tree is very vigorous and only a moderate producer. The fruit typically mature in the late Spring for us.
