Mamey, or mamey sapote (Pouteria sapota), is a tropical fruit native to Central America and the Caribbean. 

It has a rough, brown outer skin and a vibrant orange to salmon-colored flesh that is creamy, sweet, and slightly nutty in flavor—often compared to sweet potato, pumpkin, or apricot with hints of almond and vanilla.
